Water Quality Advisory remains in effect. The WQA issued in May 2024 will remain in effect until the treatment system is upgraded. A copy of the notice is here for your review. If you have a vacation rental or other business serving members of the public, please post the WQA notice on the premises so visitors are informed.
Disinfection by-products (DBPs) including Trihalomethanes (THMs) & Haloacetic acids (HAA5) are present in Lund water at levels that are elevated relative to the Maximum Acceptable Concentration (MAC) set by the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality (GCDWQ). DBPs form when chlorine reacts with naturally occurring organic matter in source water. For surface water systems with elevated natural organic carbon, some DBP formation is expected where chlorine is used as the primary disinfectant.
